SUNDAY, MAY 21 FROM NOON - 5PM
What is Zine Club?
Zine Club is a Monthly series of workshops/hangouts wherein we make zines! We're under slightly new management, but we're up to the challenge to provide your zine fix. And thanks to our new location at Star Clipper, we have so many more comics in addition to our usual assortment of magazines and catalog.
Hang out, make a zine in a couple hours, get zines the next time you come! Start a collection! Start making things! All are welcome, no prerequisite art skills!
What is a Zine?
A zine is a "small-circulation self-published work of original or appropriated texts and images, usually reproduced via photocopier."
Which is to say, we'll teach you how to make a small book. You get to fill the book with images and text you find interesting based around a theme. After you make a zine, you leave it with us and come back to the next meeting to get black and white copies of the zines from last meeting, in addition to your original.
Soon enough you'll havea nice little library of mini-zines!
Glue sticks/tape/scissors/comics/magazines/catalogs are provided, but additional materials are always welcome.
The times are drop in. You don't have to get here as early as Noon, but we will be winding down around 4:30pm.
