Starting May 25th, DC is doing a massive refresh on all of their comics, showcasing new stories and returning old characters. Read more for the specifics!
Last Saturday, DC Comics revealed their rosters for the DC Rebirth event that begins on May 25th. The event kicks off with a special DC Universe Rebirth one-shot. What will follow is a fresh lineup of new and returning titles with new creative teams. These 32 new ongoing titles total - 15 monthly and 17 twice-monthly - will all be marked at $2.99 and are all, according to Dan DiDio, "'Rebirth' is designed to bring back the best of DC's past, embrace the stories we currently love and move the entire epic universe into the future."
And after hearing the scope of Rebirth and the basic ideas behind some of these titles, the future for DC really does sound epic. Writers like Tom King, James Tynion IV and Scott Snyder will all be taking up ambitious bat-books, fresh characters like Simon Baz and Jessica Cruz will be added to the Justice League roster, a new team up book titled "The Super-Sons" will feature Batman and Superman's sons in exciting adventures, and tons more! Below are some additions and changes that I'm especially excited about.
Scott Snyder's "All-Star Batman," is going to explore the relationship of Batman and Two-Face, on the run across the country from the world's greatest assassins. Another important note: it's been confirmed that Scott Snyder has signed an exclusive contract with DC.
DC is revisiting the popular "Trinity" dynamic, written and drawn by Francis Manapul.
Terry McGinnis returns and Dan Jurgens remains on "Batman Beyond," which is probably the title that I'm most excited about.
And, breaking news, Justice League #50 is going to unveil the true identity of the Joker!

One key thing to note with this event is that it is not a reboot, just an awesome refresher that will benefit new and veteran readers alike. I'm super excited and you should be, too! - Sam
